5) Place your selected stock shim on the
recoil spring tube first, with the stamped
letter facing toward the stock and the
small stud facing the receiver. (This stud
corresponds with a small hole in the re-
ceiver back) then follow with the stock.
Turn the shotgun barrel toward the floor
so that the stock will stay in place while
you drop the correspondingly lettered
retaining plate into the stock. (Making
sure the plate fits exactly into its woo-
den receptor). Then place the lock
washer and nut on the recoil spring tu-
be and re-tighten it.
The recoil pad may now be aligned and
screwed back into place to complete
the drop change.
Remember that when you alter the
stock drop of a shotgun you are actually
altering the impact point of the gun as
well. After changing the drop make sure
that you shoot some clay targets to assu-
re yourself that you’re impact point is
correct for your dimensions and style of
shooting.

Coupling instruction: the drop change kits are
identified by letters. A-S B-S C-S D-S letters refer
to the stock locking plates for the left-hand shot-
gun to be used only with left-hand (cast-on)
stocks.
To ensure a correct drop, always match locking
plates and shims having the same letters.
