Control Unit (TCU)
Fleets need information from their on-vehicle systems to clarify
diagnostics, maintenance schedules, and trailer usage. The optional
Bendix
®
Trailer Control Unit (TCU
™
) provides this, plus additional data,
in an easy-to-use, menu-driven unit mounted directly to the trailer.
The Bendix
®
TCU
™
collects and stores information such as mileage,
trip distance, service intervals, brake system diagnostics, and stability
events. It will even read the pressure in the trailer air suspension bags
and display this data as trailer axle weight, eliminating the need for other

Designed for trailers and dollies requiring single channel ABS. Application
is for 2S/1M (2 wheel speed sensors/1 modulator). Works with all
trailer types – from flatbed and tankers, to vans and bulk haulers.

also be downloaded via a PC using Bendix ACom diagnostic software
(version 6.0 or later) when the trailer is back at the terminal. Auxiliary
pins provide features such as dome lamp control and auxiliary warning
lamps.
Good drivers and good driving practices are still key
No stability system eliminates the need for good drivers, good driving
practices or good driver training. A stability system is designed to
complement these safe practices, providing additional driver support
when unforeseen circumstances arise.
Driving Scenario:
A vehicle enters a curve too fast, on a high friction pavement, resulting in high
lateral (side) forces acting at the trailer's center of gravity (CG). The high friction
between the wheels and the pavement create a "hinge" effect allowing the forces
at the CG to push the vehicle over.
