5.5 Off-Board Diagnostics
5.5.1 SAE J2497 PLC Diagnostics
For TABS6, the SAE J2497 data link also functions as a link to PC-based
diagnostic systems and other off-board user interface devices. Full diagnostic,
parameter setting and software download capability can be performed over the
SAE J2497 data link, using SAE J1587 type messages.
5.5.2 SAE J1587 Diagnostic Connector
For the Premium TABS6, the diagnostic and data exchange via SAE J1587 with
a PC or pro-link tester is possible by connecting the data line to diagnostic
connector. TABS6 provides this interface with either the 4-pin Deutsch
diagnostic DT06 connector as part of the TABS6 pigtail harness, or on the 6-pin
Deutsch diagnostic HD10 connector if the trailer is equipped with the diagnostic
extension cable. The pin assignment of the diagnostic connectors is shown
below.
