MOD3 Release solenoid (AUX2)
shorted or open
• Check for corroded/damaged wiring or connectors
between the ECU and MOD2/3 (AUX4/2)
• At the 18-pin ECU harness connector:
- If MOD2 or MOD3, verify:
3 – 8 ohms resistance across release solenoid to
common
6 – 16 ohms resistance across hold solenoid to
release solenoid
- If AUX4 or AUX2, verify:
No continuity from AUX leads to ground.
+12V is not measured at the AUX leads.
• At the device harness connector:
- If MOD2 or MOD3, verify:
No continuity from modulator leads to ground
+12V is not measured at the modulator leads with
power applied to TABS6
- If AUX4 or AUX2, verify:
Continuity of the AUX wiring to auxiliary device
No continuity from AUX wiring to any other ECU
18-pin connector pins
• At the device connector:
- If MOD2 or MOD3, verify:
3 – 8 ohms resistance across release solenoid to
common (Pins 2 to 1)
6 – 16 ohms resistance across hold solenoid to
release solenoid (Pins 1 to 3)
- If AUX4 or AUX2, verify:
Expected resistance for auxiliary device
• Replace/repair MOD2/3 (AUX4/2) wiring or components
as required.
• After repairs or if no issues found, then clear faults.
• If faults return, replace the TABS6 Module.

7 3 MOD1 ABS modulator dynamic error 7 7
8 3 MOD2 ABS modulator dynamic error 8 7
9 3 MOD3 ABS modulator dynamic error
• No wheel response to ABS command between the ECU
and MOD1.
• Verify proper MOD activation with brake pressure
applied, at power-up (Chuff Test) and/or using diagnostic
tool.
• For MOD2 or MOD3, verify correct wiring (not reversed)
between 18-pin ECU and MOD harness connectors
• Possible slow brake release, check for:
- Dragging brakes
- Dry bearings
- Faulty return springs
- Parking brake system faults
- Restricted brake air lines
- Over adjusted slacks
- Out of round drums
- Damaged/ loose tone rings.
• Repair/replace MOD2/3 wiring/valve, TABS6 module or
any other brake component as required.
9 7
8 4 MOD2 Valve configuration error 8 13
9 4 MOD3 Valve configuration error
• Verify correct ABS configuration using blink codes or
other diagnostic tools
• If needed, reset to the default ABS configuration and
power-up to initiate auto-configuration.
