5.4 Blink Code Diagnostics
The TABS6 provides a means of retrieving and clearing diagnostic information, checking
system configuration, displaying odometer mileage and performing limited system
function checks by using blink code diagnostics. All fault and configuration information is
displayed by flashing the trailer-mounted ABS warning lamp.
5.4.1 Blink Code Diagnostics - Activation
With ignition power applied, TABS6 monitors the number of brake lamp power-
ups, to activate a blink code mode. Once the trail-mounted ABS warning lamp
begins displaying codes, TABS6 will not respond to additional brake lamp inputs,
until all blink code messages have been displayed and TABS6 has returned to
normal operating mode.
In order to prevent unintentional activation of blink codes, if ignition power is
continuously applied for greater than 15.0 seconds, without entering blink code
mode, the counting of the brake lamp power-up in TABS6 is disabled.
Following a single display of all available messages, the trailer-mounted ABS
warning lamp shall remain illuminated for 5.0 seconds and then return to normal
operating mode. Multiple occurrences of a fault shall only be displayed once. If
wheel or vehicle speed is detected at any time during blink code diagnostics,
TABS6 returns to normal operating mode.
