SHEET NO. 35
5.1.2 Event History Log
The TABS6 retains a record of all faults and comments (such as configuration
changes) in non-volatile memory. This record is commonly referred to as Event
History. When a fault self-heals or is manually cleared, the fault code remains in
event history as an inactive fault.
The event history log consists of thirty (30) records. Each record shall consist of
the following data:
• Type (fault, event, etc.)
• Whether active or inactive
• Odometer reading
• Fault number, event number, etc.
The event history log in the fault memory may be cleared using the diagnostic
blink codes or an off-board diagnostic tool such as the Bendix
®
ACOM™
diagnostic software.
5.2 System Faults
5.2.1 ECU Faults
The TABS6 continuously monitors the ECU for correct operation. If a problem
with the normal operation is detected, all control functions is turned off as long as
this fault is active. With this fault, the TABS6 illuminates the trailer-mounted
warning lamp and broadcast the diagnostic message over the diagnostic data
bus if possible.
5.2.2 Power Supply Diagnostics
5.2.2.1 Low Voltage
The TABS6 detects if supply voltage is below 8V. All control functions
are turned off as long as this fault is active. With this fault, the TABS6
illuminates the trailer-mounted warning lamp and broadcast the
diagnostic message over the diagnostic data bus if possible.
5.2.2.2 Low Voltage during Chuff Test (voltage supply, high resistance)
The TABS6 detects during the Chuff Test at power-up if a significant
voltage drop exist. All control functions are turned off as long as this fault
is active. With this fault, the TABS6 illuminates the trailer-mounted
warning lamp and broadcast the diagnostic message over the diagnostic
data bus if possible.
5.2.2.3 High Voltage
The TABS6 detects if supply voltage is greater than 16V. All control
functions are turned off as long as this fault is active, and the low side
switch shall be switched off to prevent damage to the valve driver
circuitry. With this fault, the TABS6 illuminates the trailer-mounted
warning lamp and broadcast the diagnostic message over the diagnostic
data bus if possible.
