Display
The display com prises t hree areas.

Text indicat ions
Ar ea D e scription
First line displays various icons ( see next page) .
Middle line Display m essages, inst ruct ions and
any inform at ion that you ent er ( num ber t o be
dialed, for exam ple) . Last line shows t he
funct ions current ly assigned t o t he t wo words.
I cons
Signa l st rength: Show s t he r eceived signal
st rength. The greater t he num ber of bars shows,
the better t he signal is st rong.
N o Serv ice : Appears when you are out side a
service area. Wit h it displayed, you cannot m ak e
or r eceive calls. Wait a little while for a bet t er
signal or m ove into an open area t o regain t he
service.
N ew M e ssa ge: I ndicat es t hat t here is a new
m essage w ait ing t o be checked. (VS indicat es
voice m ails, and SMS m eans t ext m essages.)
Alarm : Appears when y ou set an alarm .
Vibr a t ion m ode: Appears when t he ring volum e
for calls is set t o Vibrate.
Bat t e ry st a t us: Shows t he level of your bat t er y.
The m or e bars you see, the m ore pow er you have
left .
Ba ck light
The display and keypad are illum inat ed by a
backlight . When you pr ess any key, the backlight
illum inates. I t turns off if no key is pressed wit hin
a given period of t im e.
To specify the lengt h of t im e the phone wait s
before t he backlight t urns off, set t he Backlight
m enu.
