Ezi English Mode
This m ode allows you t o ent er English words with
only one keypress per let t er. Each key on a
keypad has m ore t han one let t er - a single press
on t he 5 key could be J, K, or L. The Ezi English
m ode autom at ically com pares your k ey presses
to an internal linguist ic dat abase t o det er m ine
the correct word.
The m ode requires far fewer keySt rokes t han
the traditional m ulti- t ap m et hod; ABC m ode.
Typing English W or ds
To t ype a w ord, pr ess keys corresponding t o t he
let t ers you need. Rem em ber t he follow ing as you
are t yping:
1. Press keys on the phone j ust once per desired
let t er. For exam ple, t o ent er ‘ hello’ , press the
follow ing keySt rokes: 4, 3, 5, 5, 6.
2. The word you are typing appears in t he
display. I t m ay change w it h each key you
pr ess.
3. Type t o the end of t he word befor e edit ing or
delet ing any keyStrokes.
4. Com plete each w ord w it h a space by pr essing
the 0 key.
I f t he word t hat appears in t he display is not t he
word t hat you desire, press the key one or m or e
tim es to display alt ernate word choices for t he
keys you have t y ped. ( For exam ple, ‘ of’ and ‘ m e’
bot h shares the sequence 6, 3) The phone
displays the m ost com m only used choice first .

N ot e : The phone displays all t he w ords which is
cont aining t he let ters y ou have ent ered. By doing
this, t he eZi m ode saves you t yping ext ra keypresses.

Sm a rt Pu nct ua t ions
Period, hyphen, and apostrophe ar e available on
the 1 key. eZi applies rules of gram m ar t o insert
the correct punctuat ion. Not ice t hat t he 1 key is
used t wice in t his exam ple t o display t wo
punct uat ion m ar ks:
Shift in g a Ca se
To change the case of the w ord, press t he
< Navigat ion Up or Dow n > key repeat edly when
the word is highlighted. Lower Case, Capit al Lock
and I nit ial Capit al are available. Also you can
insert periods bet ween the alphabet s for
abbr eviat ions.
Scrolling
• The < Navigation Up or Down > key scrolls t o
the alt er nat iv e charact ers corr esponding the
keypresses.
• To v iew your m essage w it hout m oving t he
cursor, press t he volum e keys on t he left side
of t he phone.
• To m ove t he cursor left or right t hrough your
text m essage, pr ess t he < or > key. Not e t hat
pr essing t he > key without com plet ing a word
by t he 0 key displays the alt ernat ive w ord.

rem ove charact ers from t he Text Area.

Letter m ode is indicat ed by ABC. When t yping in
Letter m ode, you should press key labeled with
the required charact er:
