Entering Tex t
When using your phone, you w ill need t o ent er
text at m any t im es. For exam ple, when st oring a
nam e in t he Phonebook, creat ing a greeting note,
writ ing a t ex t m essage or scheduling event s in
your calendar.
The following t ext input m odes are available.
• Ezi Pin yin : allow s y ou t o enter t he Chinese
char acters using their pinyin, the phonet ic
syst em .
• Ezi St rok e: allows you to ent er the Chinese
char acters using their St r okes.
• Ezi En glish: allows you to ent er t he English
let t ers by pr essing each key once for each
char acter. The words are predict ed along along
with ot her candidat es t hat fit the let t ers t yped
thus far.
• Ezi ABC: allows you to ent er let t ers by pressing
the key labeled wit h t he desired letter once, t w ice,
or t hr ee t im es unt il t he let t er appears on t he
display.
• Ezi 1 2 3 : allows you t o ent er num bers.
• Sym bol: allow s y ou t o enter t he sym bols or
punct uat ion m ar ks.

Changing Text I nput Mode
When you are in a field that allows charact ers
ent ry, you should not ice t he t ext input m ode
indicat or in t he display.
To change to another t ext input m ode;
1. Press the @ key repeatedly unt il you find t he
desir ed m ode.
2. Press the < Navigation Up or Down> key
repeat edly unt il you find the desir ed input
m ode fr om t he list.
3. Press the SELECT soft key.
You w ill see the t ext input m ode indicator in
the top line of t he display:
• Ezi Pinyin m ode › Pinyin
• Ezi Stroke m ode › St roke
• Ezi English m ode › Let t er
• Ezi ABC m ode › ABC, Abc, or abc
• Ezi 123 m ode › 123
• Sy m bol m ode › Sym bol
• Dict ionary m ode › Dict ionar y
• List Dict ionary m ode › List Dict ionary
