PI N ( Persona l I den t ifica t ion N um be r )
Securit y code that prot ect s t he phone against
unaut horised use. The PI N is supplied by t he
ser vice provider with t he SI M card. I t m ay be a
four t o eight -digit num ber and can be changed,
as required.
PUK ( PI N Unblock ing Key)
Securit y code used to unlock the phone when
an incorrect PI N has been ent er ed t hree tim es
in succession. The eight-digit num ber is supplied
by the service provider with t he SI M card.
Roam ing
Use of your phone when y ou are out side your
hom e area ( w hen traveling for ex am ple) .
SI M ( Subscr iber I dent ificat ion Module )
Card cont aining a chip wit h all t he inform at ion
required to operat e t he phone (net work and
m em ory inform at ion, as well as the subscr iber’ s
personal dat a) . The SI M card fit s int o a sm all slot
on the back of t he phone and is prot ect ed by t he
bat t ery.

Network service sending and r eceiving m essages
