Let t er Mode
Let t er m ode is indicat ed by ABC. When t yping in
Let t er m ode, you should press key labeled wit h
the r equired char act er:
- Once for t he first char act er
- Twice for t he second char act er and so on.
For exam ple, you press t he 2 key t hree t im es
quickly to display t he charact er “ C” , t he 5 key
two t im es quickly t o display t he charact er “ L” .
So, this m et hod is called Multi- t ap t yping.
The cursor m oves to t he right w hen y ou press a
differ ent key. When ent ering t he sam e charact er
twice (or a different charact er on t he sam e key),
j ust wait for a few seconds for t he cursor t o m ove
right aut om at ically, and t hen select t he
next charact er.
Refer t o t he t able on next page for the list of
char act ers assigned on each key.

Shift ing a Case
To shift t he case of t he next charact er( s) t hat
you type, press t he # key one or m ore t im es.
There are t wo shift st at es:
Lower Case is indicat ed by abc in the display,
and Capit als Lock is indicat ed by ABC.
Scr olling
• To view your m essage without m oving t he
cursor, pr ess the volum e k eys on t he left side
of the phone.
• To m ove t he cursor left or r ight through your
text m essage, press t he < or > key.
Clea r ing St r oke s a nd Ch a ract e r s
Press t he Ba ck soft key one or m ore t im es t o
rem ove charact ers from the Text Area.
N um ber Mode
Num ber m ode is indicat ed by 1 2 3. I t enables you
to ent er num bers int o a t ext m essage. Pr ess keys
corresponding to t he desir ed digits, and m anually
swit ch back to t he t ext ent ry m ode of choice.
Sym bol M ode
Sym bolic m ode enables you t o enter sym bols int o
a t ex t m essage.
To scroll through t he sy m bols av ailable, press t he
All Navigation Key(the volum e key on t he left
side of t he phone) . Press t he keys corresponding
to t he desired m ark, t hen the phone
aut om at ically swit ches back t o the text ent r y
m ode used j ust prior t o select ing Sym bols m ode.
