keySt rokes; 8, 3, 1. Even though 中國 is a
twelve St roke character pair , your phone enables
you to t ype it in only t hree key presses!
Ezi English Mode
This m ode allows y ou t o enter English words wit h
only one keypr ess per let t er. Each key on a
keypad has m ore t han one let t er - a single press
on the 5 key could be J, K, or L. The Ezi English
m ode aut om at ically com pares your k ey presses
to an int ernal linguist ic database to det erm ine
the correct word.
The m ode requires far fewer key St rokes than
the t r adit ional m ult i- tap m et hod; ABC m ode.
Typin g English W or ds
To type a word, press keys corr esponding t o t he
let t ers you need. Rem em ber t he following as you
are t yping:
1. Press keys on the phone just once per desired
let t er. For exam ple, t o enter hello , press t he
following keySt rokes: 4, 3, 5, 5, 6.
2. The w or d you ar e t yping appear s in t he
display. I t m ay change wit h each key you
press.
3. Type t o t he end of t he word before edit ing or
delet ing any keyStrokes.
4. Com plet e each word w it h a space by pressing
the 0 key.
I f t he word t hat appears in the display is not t he
word that you desire, press t he key one or m ore
tim es t o display alt er nate word choices for the
keys you have t yped. ( For exam ple, of and m e
bot h shares t he sequence 6, 3) The phone
displays t he m ost com m only used choice first .
N ot e : The phone displays all t he wor ds which is
containing t he let ters you have ent ered. By doing
this, t he eZi m ode saves you t yping ext ra k ey presses.

Period, hy phen, and apost rophe ar e available on
the 1 key. eZi applies rules of gram m ar t o insert
the correct punct uat ion. Not ice t hat t he 1 key is
used t wice in this exam ple t o display t wo
punct uat ion m arks:
Shift ing a Case
To change t he case of t he word, press t he
< Navigat ion Up or Down > k ey r epeat edly when
the w or d is highlight ed. Low er Case, Capit al Lock
and I nit ial Capital are available. Also you can
insert periods between the alphabet s for
abbreviat ions.
Scr ollin g
The < Navigation Up or Dow n > key scrolls to
the alt ernat ive charact ers corresponding the
keypr esses.
To view your m essage without m oving t he
cursor, pr ess the volum e k eys on t he left side
of the phone.
To m ove t he cursor left or r ight through your
text m essage, press the < or > key. Not e t hat
pressing t he > key w it hout com plet ing a word
by the 0 key displays t he alt er nat ive w or d.
