Ent ering Text
When using your phone, you will need t o enter
text at m any tim es. For exam ple, when st oring a
nam e in t he Phonebook , creat ing a greet ing not e,
wr it ing a t ext m essage or scheduling event s in
your calendar.
The following t ext input m odes are available.
• Ezi Pin yin : allow s you to ent er t he Chinese
char act ers using their pinyin, t he phonet ic
syst em .
• Ezi St roke: allows you t o enter the Chinese
char act ers using their St rokes.
• Ezi English: allow s you to ent er t he English
let t ers by pressing each key once for each
char act er. The words ar e pr edict ed along along
wit h ot her candidates that fit t he let t ers typed
thus far.
• Ezi ABC: allow s you to enter let t ers by pressing
the k ey labeled w it h the desired let t er once, twice,
or t hree t im es until t he let t er appears on the
display.
• Ezi 1 2 3 : allows you to enter num bers.
• Sym bol: allows you to ent er t he sym bols or
punct uat ion m arks.

Phonebook ent ry, for ex am ple, only Let t er m ode is
available.

Changing Te xt I nput Mode
When you are in a field that allow s characters
ent ry, you should not ice t he text input m ode
indicator in the display.
To change t o anot her t ext input m ode;
1. Press t he @ key r epeat edly unt il y ou find t he
desired m ode.
2. Press t he < Navigat ion Up or Down> k ey
repeat edly until y ou find t he desir ed input
m ode from the list .
3. Press t he SELECT soft key.
You w ill see t he text input m ode indicator in
the t op line of the display:
• Ezi Pinyin m ode › Piny in
• Ezi St r oke m ode › Stroke
• Ezi English m ode › Let t er
• Ezi ABC m ode › ABC, Abc, or abc
• Ezi 123 m ode › 123
• Sym bol m ode › Sym bol
• Dict ionar y m ode › Dict ionary
• List Dictionary m ode › List Dict ionary
