Messa ges
The SMS (Short Message Service) funct ion is a
net work service and m ay not be supported by
your network.
Messages can be sent by t ext, e- m ail and paging
m essaging syst em s, prov ided t hat t hese services
are supported by y our net w or k. To send t ext
m essages by phone, you m ust obtain t he num ber
of the SMS cent r e fr om your serv ice prov ider.
Your phone can st or e up t o 20 incom ing and
out going m essages. I f t he m essage m em ory is
full, an er ror m essage is displayed and you
cannot receive or save any new m essages. I f
then, you should delet e obsolet e m essages in [ I n
Message] m enu in [ Messa ge] .
To access t he Messages m enu, press t he key
in St andby m ode.
W rit e Messages
Via t his m enu, you can w rit e t ex t m essages of
up t o 160 alphanum eric char act ers and for
Chinese 70 charact ers are allowed.
1. When accessing t his m enu, t he following
opt ions ar e available.
• Send: sends t he m essage im m ediat ely.
Ent er t he m essage and t hen input a num ber
or search t he stored num ber
• Save: allows you to save t he m essage so
that it can be sent lat er . You can read t he
m essage in y our Out Message.
2. Create t he m essage as needed. For furt her
det ails on how t o enter t ext, see below. See
[ Ezi Tex t I nput ] .
3. I nput the full num ber, press Sele ct soft key
or You can also find the st ored num ber by
pressing Se a rch key and t hen use
< Navigat ion Up / Down> key. I f you find out
the num ber, press SELECT soft key
4. Before sending t he m essage, the phone will
check t he SMS Center num ber . I f t he num ber is
not st or ed, y ou can send the m essage after
input t ing the num ber.
Out M essa ge
Out Message st ores the m essages t hat you have
already sent or w ill send.
When you enter t his m enu, y ou can see t he first
st ored m essage. Scroll t o t he desired m essage by
using t he < Navigat ion Left or Right> k ey and
scan t hrough the m essage by pressing t he
< Navigat ion Up> or < Navigat ion Dow n> key.
Press t he Edit soft key to edit t he m essage t ex t
or use t he opt ions.
While viewing a m essage, you can choose the
following opt ions, by pressing t he Opt soft key:
Send: sends t he select ed m essage.
Sa ve: saves t he select ed m essage if you have
changed.
Ex t r a ct N u m ber: extract s a num ber from t he
m essage if it has, so t hat you can call the
num ber or save it in t he Phonebook.
Dele t e: delet es t he select ed m essage from
Out Message.
Dele t e All: delet es all m essages st ored in
Out Message. When a confirm ing m essage
appears, press t he SELECT soft key t o rem ove
them or t he Ba ck soft key t o cancel delet ing.
