The following metals are used on PB
pipe systems:
Resistance welding connections
Polybutene resistance welding con-
nections are generally suitable for all
polybutene-compatible fluids. Exception:
readily diffusing, metal-attacking sub-
stances such as:
• Hydrogen bromide HBr
• Hydrogen fluoride HF
• (hydrofluoric acid)
• Fluorosilicic acid H

• (sand acid)
• Hydrogen chloride HCl
• (hydrochloric acid)
• Hypochloric acid HOCl-
• (hypochlorous acid) aqueous
Flanged and screwed connections
With flanged and screwed connections,
the material of the sealing elements must
be taken into account.
