6 Command Reference
The Lauer SCOM protocol exposes many commands for remote control of a Lauer
Navigation Monitor by a dedicated software. It supports all standard SCOM com-
mands, as well as the new Lauer command set for special purpose functions.
This chapter describes each SCOM command and sub-commands for the following
currently available Lauer Navigation Monitor:
Although all Lauer Navigation Monitors are based on the same base firmware and
use the same communication and handling controller called “LAUERIRMC” (Lauer
Intelligent Remote Monitor Controller), some commands/sub-commands are hard-
ware dependant and not supported on each monitor type, due to the differences
within the monitor hardware (i.e. different video controllers). These differences and
required firmware versions are indicated in each command description in more de-
tail.

Note:
Response messages may be generated and sent back, even if the commands/sub-
commands are not supported within a particular firmware version or if they are invalid.
