1. INTRODUCTION With the FIREBIRD you purchased a retro-style guitar amp that offers you lots of practical uses in a really cool design. When developing the GX108, our top-priority goal was to perfect the sound of vintage analog guitar amps and combine it with a set of useful connection and expansion options. With the FIREBIRD GX108 we purposefully went back to the roots of guitar amplification.
1.2 Control elements 1.2.1 Front panel Fig. 1.1: Front panel control elements 1 INPUT is the GX108’s 1/4" jack input for your guitar. Use a commercial 1/4" jack mono cable with good mechanical and electrical shielding. 2 The GAIN control governs the degree of distortion produced by your GX108. + As high gain settings result in an output signal with plenty of treble frequencies, it might be necessary to adapt the high-frequency range with the TREBLE control.
8 FUSE HOLDER / VOLTAGE SELECTOR. Please make sure that your local voltage matches the voltage indicated on the unit, before you attempt to connect and operate the GX108. Blown fuses may only be replaced by fuses of the same type and rating. Some models allow for inserting the fuse holder in two different positions, in order to switch over from 230-V to 115-V operation, and vice versa. Please note that for 115-V operation outside Europe, you need to use a fuse of a higher rating (see chapter 1.1).
