Displaying traffic messages on the map
The latest traffic messages are
represented graphically on the traffic
overview map. Sections of the route
where there are traffic problems are
highlighted blue. Arrows indicating the
traffic direction which is affected by the
traffic problem continue to be displayed.
In addition to the coloured mark, a
warning sign is displayed on the stretch
of road affected.
In the case of devices with Live Traffic –
traffic messages, movement data in
coloured gradations are represented in
addition to traffic congestions. Green,
yellow, orange and red are used here,
whereby green signifies a free flow of
traffic and red indicates that serious
delays are to be expected.
Using TMC or Live-Traffic
The use of TMC is described below, Live
Traffic behaves similarly here. When the
Navigation device has been attached to
the carrier plate (power supply with the
integrated TMC antenna connected), your
Navigation device will receive up-to-date
traffic announcements. It is then possible
to calculate dynamic routes (traffic jam
diversion).
You can also view traffic announcements
directly.
Settings for TMC can be made as
described under "The TMC or Traffic
button (model dependent)" on page 77.
> In the main menu, press the
button.
The map overview appears.
Notice:
The data transmission via your mobile
phone may involve additional costs de-
pending on the mobile phone contract.
Please find out from your mobile phone
provider before activating. If a connec-
tion to the server is not possible, e.g. be-
cause no mobile phone network is
available for a longer period of time,
then the system switches over auto-
matically to TMC until a connection to
the server is possible again.
With this button you can
specify the time a traffic
congestion bypass will save
before it should be displayed.
Values between 3 minutes
and 30 minutes of time-
saving are available.
