Battery
Your Navigation device may be operated
using an external power supply unit or
an integrated rechargeable battery.
The energy supply and status are shown
on a display.
Displaying the power supply
You can call up the status display using
the following button:
> Press the
Battery button.
The status display appears and shows
the power supply.
The power level is displayed by means of
the level indicator. In the example, the
battery is still approx. 80% charged.
The charging process is indicated in the
status display by a connector symbol.
Please note that your navigation device
must be supplied with sufficient current
(ampere) in order to be reasonably
charged. Consequently, we recommend
using the BECKER car charger cable
supplied with the device or original
BECKER accessory items.
As soon as the battery is fully charged,
the "battery fully charged" text will ap-
pear in the display.
Closing the status display
Pressing the
OK button closes the status
display and the settings menu appears.
Protection from overheating of the
battery (model-dependent)
If the battery overheats due to external
influences, for example, the device can
switch to a protection mode automati-
cally if necessary. In this mode, the ex-
ternal power supply is deactivated and
the display brightness is reduced. The
protection mode is stopped automatical-
ly as soon as the battery has reached a
normal temperature again.
Power saving mode
(model dependent)
In the system settings you can find the
"Power saving mode" menu item. Here,
you have two options for reducing the
power consumption:
1. Reduce display brightness automati-
cally: The display brightness is reduced
automatically in the following situations:
a) As soon as nothing has been touched
for at least 1:30 minutes without any ac-
tive route.
Note:
The current charging state is important
when operating with a battery. If the
battery is low on power, it may not be
possible to continue navigation right to
the destination.
