MAC Filtering
A MAC (Media Access Control) address is the unique network hardware identier for each PC on
your network’s interface (i.e. its Network Interface Card or Ethernet card). Using your router’s MAC
Address Filter function, you can congure the network to block specic machines from accessing
your LAN.
MAC Filtering Policy For Each Interface
MAC Filtering is only effective on ATM PVCs congured in Bridge mode. FORWARD means that
all MAC layer frames will be FORWARDED except those matching with any of the specied rules
in the following table. BLOCKED means that all MAC layer frames will be BLOCKED except those
matching with any of the specied rules in the following table.
Note: Changing from one policy to another of an interface will cause all dened rules for
that interface to be REMOVED AUTOMATICALLY! You will need to create new rules for the
new policy.
