All incoming IP trafc from the WAN is blocked by default when the rewall is enabled. However,
some IP trafc can be accepted by setting up lters.
Click Add to enter Add IP Filter -- Incoming screen to add a lter rule for incoming IP trafc.
Filter Name: User dened description for entry identication. The maximum name length is 32
characters
Protocol: Specify the packet type (TCP/UDP, TCP, UDP and ICMP) that the rule applies to from
the listbox. Select TCP if you wish to search for the connection-based application service on the
remote server using the port number. Or select UDP if you want to search for the connectionless
application service on the remote server using the port number.
Source IP address: This is an Address-Filter used to allow or block trafc from particular IP
address(es). Enter the IP range that you want to lter. If only the rst IP block is lled, it means
only that IP entered will be targeted. If you leave both IP blocks empty, it means any IP address.
Source Subnet Mask: Type the subnet mask associated with the source IP address.
Source Port (port to port:port): This is the Port Range that denes the ports allowed by the
Remote/WAN to connect to the application. It is recommended that only advance user is to
congure this feature.
