Analogue RJ11 SMSPOTS
The Beam SMSPOTS functionality is available on selected Beam RST310 terminals. The
SMSPOTS feature enables the use of SMS Compatible POTS type handset. Typically known
as a Fixed POTS SMS terminal.

Enabling SMS POTS
To enable the SMS POTS functionality tick the enable SMS over POTS button in the Beam
Management System. Once activated you will be required to enter a POTS handset SMSC
number into the BMS that matches the SMSC of the Fixed POTS Handset you are
connecting.
POTS SMSC Number
The POTS SMSC is the special phone number used by SMS over POTS to send and receive
SMS text messages rather than voice calls.
The same number must be programmed into the POTS phone for both TX and RX. Do not
include any sub address or delivery-mode trailing digits. (just the SMSC prefix).
The default Beam SMSC over POTS number being used is 01983391. This number must be
selected in the Beam Management System and also programmed into the corresponding
POTS handset being used with the RST310.
