How to Use the
BD SafetyGlide
Syringe
for Insulin, TB and
Allergy
1. Aspiration
Rotate the safety arm as
needed to read the scale.
3. Activation
After injection,
immediately apply a
singlenger stroke to
activate the safety arm by
moving it completely
forward.
Visually conrm that
the safety arm has fully
advanced and the needle
tip is covered.
Discard after single use
in an approved sharps
container.
Puncture the center of the
vial to minimize potential
bending of the needle.
Draw up medication in
accordance with
established protocol.
2. Injection
To facilitate a low-angle
injection, rotate the safety
arm so that it is oriented
to the needle bevel.
Administer medication
in accordance with
established protocol.
