Regulated Medical Waste Hazardous Waste
BD Disposal Solutions offers collectors to meet the
disposal needs of the four categories of waste generated
in medical settings. There are two main categories of
waste: regulated medical waste and hazardous waste.
Regulated medical waste includes Sharps / Infectious
Waste, Pharmaceutical (nonhazardous) and Chemotherapy
waste; all of which include the Biohazard symbol to
denote collection of that waste stream. The hazardous
waste category is for the collection of RCRA (Resource
Conservation and Recovery Act by the U.S. EPA) waste.
This table indicates general guidelines for proper waste
stream segregation.
