Collection and Transport Swabs
The BBL CultureSwab Plus Collection and Transport System features Amies
agar gel media with oxygen-scavenging agents, for sampling of both aerobic
and anaerobic organisms. The BBL CultureSwab Plus systems include all
the packaging and product design features of the BBL CultureSwab line
plus the following:

Patented “venturi-constriction” – creates
the optimum balance of media’s surface area
exposure. Helps maintain media moisture and
minimize oxidation to enhance microbial survival.
Centers swab in gel column.
5 mL gel column – provides maximum
specimen protection and improved sample
viability. Available with or without charcoal.
Charcoal may be used for enhanced
recovery of certain fastidious organisms.
