STEP 16

Lift the fuel tank into position in the vehicle. Reinstall all fuel lines and elec-

trical connections.

NOTE. It ma be necessary to loosen the fuel lter and slide it back in

it’s mount toward the tank to allow better t of the fuel line onto the

module.

STEP 17

Install the fuel tank retaining straps and tighten the retaining nuts. Do not

over tighten the retaining strap nuts.

STEP 18

Reinstallthelterneckandventhoses.

WRAP UP

STEP 19

Usingonlyequipmentdesignedforusewithgasoline,refuelthefueltank

withgasoline.

NOTE: Be sure to clean up any fuel spills before proceeding.

STEP 20

Withtheignitionswitchoff,reconnectthenegative(-)cabletothebattery.

STEP 21

Reinstallthefuelpumprelayinthepowerdistributioncenter.

STEP 22

Start the engine and inspect the fuel lines and connections for leaks.

Correct any leaks as necessary.

STEP 23

Clearanytroublecodesintheelectroniccontrolsystemthatmayexistasa

result of the fuel pump replacement procedure. If necessary, use the spe-

cicvehicleservicemanualforassistance.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Should the pump fail to operate:

•Checkthefuelpumpfuseandfuelpumprelayasoutlinedintheservice

manual.

•Ifthepumphaspowerandproperpolarity,checktheremainderofthefuel

system as outlined in the service manual.
