STEP 16
Lift the fuel tank into position in the vehicle. Reinstall all fuel lines and elec-
trical connections.
NOTE. It ma be necessary to loosen the fuel lter and slide it back in
it’s mount toward the tank to allow better t of the fuel line onto the
module.
STEP 17
Install the fuel tank retaining straps and tighten the retaining nuts. Do not
over tighten the retaining strap nuts.
STEP 18
Reinstallthelterneckandventhoses.
WRAP UP
STEP 19
Usingonlyequipmentdesignedforusewithgasoline,refuelthefueltank
withgasoline.
NOTE: Be sure to clean up any fuel spills before proceeding.
STEP 20
Withtheignitionswitchoff,reconnectthenegative(-)cabletothebattery.
STEP 21
Reinstallthefuelpumprelayinthepowerdistributioncenter.
STEP 22
Start the engine and inspect the fuel lines and connections for leaks.
Correct any leaks as necessary.
STEP 23
Clearanytroublecodesintheelectroniccontrolsystemthatmayexistasa
result of the fuel pump replacement procedure. If necessary, use the spe-
cicvehicleservicemanualforassistance.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Should the pump fail to operate:
•Checkthefuelpumpfuseandfuelpumprelayasoutlinedintheservice
manual.
•Ifthepumphaspowerandproperpolarity,checktheremainderofthefuel
system as outlined in the service manual.
