The BayTech Model 24 Data Exchange System is a high performance
peripheral sharing solution offering versatile and flexible connectivity
between computers and various peripheral devices. Computers may
share plotters, modems, and laser printers as well as access other
computers to share data bases and transfer files. Cost effectiveness is
thus achieved through resource sharing among multiple users.
Figure 1 below shows a Model 24 with twenty-four ports installed. This
application shows eight local PCs, a remote PC using the BayTech
Tran-x high speed parallel-to-serial converter, and a file server from a
LAN sharing a plotter, HP LaserJet Series II printer, an HP Laserjet
Series IIISi printer, and a BayTech BX2448 2400 bps modem.
