To access the configuration mode of the Model 24, use the following
procedure:
1. Connect a dumb terminal (or a PC running a terminal emulation
program) to the master configuration port (Port 1) or to any serial
computer port. From the factory, the Model 24 is configured as
all ports computer ports, except Port 2. All serial ports are
factory preset at 9600 baud rate, 8 word size, 1 stop bit, no
parity, and XON/XOFF disabled.
NOTE: If you wish to use the BayTech TERM.EXE program to
configure your unit, refer to the instructions on the following
page.
Make sure the keyboard of your computer or terminal is in the
CAPS LOCK position.
2. Before a computer can access the configuration mode, all ports
on the Model 24 must be off-line (i.e., all LEDs must be off,
except for the green power LED). Only one port may access the
configuration mode at a time.
Send from this device to the Model 24 port being used for
configuration the following two control characters: ASCII
Control-T
(14 Hex) followed by ASCII capital C (43 Hex).
Once a port has accessed the configuration mode, the main
configuration menu will appear as shown in
Section 7.1
. From
this point on, configuration of the Model 24 will be accomplished
by following the menus that will prompt you.
All LEDs will illuminate and will remain illuminated while
configuration is occurring. If any other pattern of LEDs illuminate
or if the Model 24 gives no response (i.e., no menus appear),
wait for all LEDs to go out and resend
Control-T
and capital C.
