Only acute toxicity studies have been conducted on this product as formulated. The non-acute information
pertains to the active ingredient, imidacloprid.
Acute oral toxicity
male/female combined rat: LD50: > 5,000 mg/kg
Acute dermal toxicity
male/female combined rat: LD50: > 5,000 mg/kg
Acute inhalation toxicity
Not Applicable. No possibility of drift or off-placement desposition of the product
from crack and crevice use since the formulation is a thick, syrup-based paste
and the active ingredient is non-volatile (vapor pressure = 1.5E10(-9) mm @
20°C).
Skin irritation
rabbit: Mild skin irritation.
Eye irritation
rabbit: Minimally irritating.
Sensitisation
guinea pig: Non-sensitizing.

Chronic toxicity
Imidacloprid did not cause any significant specific adverse effects or target
organ toxicity in subchronic toxicity studies.
Assessment Carcinogenicity
Imidacloprid was not carcinogenic in lifetime feeding studies in rats and mice.

Imidacloprid did not cause reproductive toxicity in a two-generation study in rats.

Imidacloprid did not cause developmental toxicity in rats and rabbits.
Assessment
neurotoxicity
Imidacloprid showed slight behavioral and activity changes only at the highest
dose tested in neurotoxicity studies in rats. There were no correlating
morphological changes observed in the neural tissues.
