4+4. The operating system will be striped across all drives in the primary set and then
mirrored on the secondary set of drives. Note: all drives must be the same type.
PCI Expansion Slots
There are seven PCI slot bays in the rear of the chassis. The PCI slots are located at the right rear
of the chassis. The slots are numbered from right to left (1 – 7). All of the slots support only
low-profile PCI cards. The following PCI slots are available:
• Two PCIe x16 Gen 2.0 card slots (slots 2 and 6)
• Four PCIe x8 Gen 2.0 card slots (slots 1, 3, 4, and 7)
• One PCIe x4 Gen 2.0 card slot (Slot 5 is dedicated to the system RAID card.)

PCI Cards and RAID Configuration Options
Configuration options for PCI cards include support for 3 Gb/s or 6 Gb/s SAS/SATA RAID
channels and support for the various RAID levels described in section “Disk Drives (HDDs or
SSDs)” on page 49.
