Memory Configuration
There are a maximum of eighteen memory DIMMs slots on each node board. Each processor has
three memory channels and maximum performance is achieved when these three channels are
balanced on each processor. It is also important that both processors have the identical memory
configuration.
For maximum memory performance:
• The memory DIMMs slots must be populated in groups of three, six, or nine on each
processor socket.
• DIMM configuration should be identical on both processor sockets on a node board.
Configuring node boards with DIMM configuration other than described above will result in
degraded memory performance.
