1: Introduction
In addition to the serverboard and chassis, the following hardware components have been included
with the server:
• One slim DVD-ROM drive (optional)
• Three 8-cm chassis fans
• Two passive heatsinks
•One air shroud
• SATA and SAS accessories
– One SAS/SATA backplane
– One 2-ft. SATA cable
– Two 35-cm SATA cables
– Two 40-cm SGPIO cables
– Two 48-cm SATA cables
– One 70-cm SATA cable
– Eight drive carriers
• One rackmount kit
• One CD containing drivers and utilities
Important: SGI Rackable server systems may sometimes require driver versions that are not
included in the original operating system release. When required, SGI provides these drivers on
an SGI Driver CD, which may ship with the system, or on the system disk (pre-installed in the
