9.5 Cleaning the Combustion Box & 
Coals
1. Remove any deposits from the firebed base
panel (Fig. 52).
2. If necessary the coals can be cleaned with a
very soft brush, and can be retouched using the
black stain available direct from Baxi or from your
local Baxi Spares Stockist. Quote Part N

when ordering.
3. Refit the burner to the controls mounting plate
(Fig. 53).
9.6 Replacing the Fire
1. Once the boiler has been serviced, the fire can
be replaced. Refer to the boiler installation and
servicing instructions.
2. Slide the fire combustion box into position
ensuring that the flue spigot fits into the boiler
downdraught diverter. Fit and tighten the two
screws inside the flue spigot (Fig. 54) and
replace the two screws into the boiler base tray
(Fig. 56).
3. Reconnect the gas supply and test for
soundness (Fig. 57).
4. Reconnect electrical supply (Fig. 55).
5. Replace all the loose coals, side cheeks, rear
and front coals as described in “Arranging the
Coals”. Refit the fender assembly.
