RECORDING SETUP
The recording setup menu item opens the following menu:
SCHEDULE
Selecting schedule opens a sub menu similar to the following:
Set night period is used to define a time frame during which the Vivid DVR will not record. The time is entered as a start and
end time between which recording is disabled. Select Yes or No. Each camera can be selected individually.
Night period start (only visible if Set night period is set to Yes) allows you to enter the start time for the night period. To set the
night period time:
1. Select the field and press the enter key.
2. The time field will be opened with the ‘hours’ field highlighted.
3. Use the up/down arrow keys (or the camera number keys 1 to 9) to change the hours setting.
4. When finished, press the right arrow key to select the minutes field. Use the up/down arrow keys to change the minutes.
5. Press the right arrow key to select the seconds field (if required). Use the up/down arrow keys or number keys to change.
6. When the required time has been entered, press the enter key to finish.
Night period end (only visible if Set night period is set to Yes) allows you to enter the night period end time. Editing is done in
the same way as for Night period start above.
Set weekend period is used to define a time frame during which the Vivid DVR will not record. The time frame is entered as a
start and end time between which recording is disabled. Select Yes or No. Each camera can be selected individually.
Weekend period start (only visible if Set weekend period is set to Yes) allows you to enter the start time for the weekend
period. Editing is done in the same way as for Night period start above.
Weekend period end (only visible if Set weekend period is set to Yes) allows you to enter the weekend period end time. Editing
is done in the same way as for Night period start above.
MOTION DETECTION
Selecting Motion detection from the recording menu will open the motion detection menu similar to the diagram shown below:
Camera number allows you to select the camera that will have motion detection applied to it. Use the enter key and up/down
arrow keys to select the camera.
Active enables or disables motion detection for the selected camera. Select Yes or No.
Setup grid (only visible if Active is set to Yes) selecting Setup grid will superimpose a grid over the image from the selected
camera. The grid allows you to select the areas of the scene where motion detection is to be activated.
