CAMERAS
Hidden camera
Allows the selected camera to be hidden from view on the monitor. It will still be recorded. Default is hidden mode disabled.
Input terminated
Selects whether the camera input is terminated [X] or not. Default is terminated. Highlight the field and use the enter key to
enable/disable termination.
Dome camera
If the camera connected to the input is a dome camera, selecting this menu option allows you to configure the camera.
Selecting [X] (enabled) reveals two further options: Dome ID and Dome bus.
Dome ID allows a number from 1 to 16 to be entered as an ID for the selected camera. To change the ID, highlight the field and
press the enter key. The field will change colour. Use the up/down arrow keys to select an ID number. Press the enter key when
finished.
Dome bus determines how the camera is connected to the Vivid DVR. Options are RJ45 connector or Screw connector.
Highlight the field and use the enter key to select an option.
Colour
This menu option allows you to select from Colour, Black & white or Auto-detect. Highlight the field and use the enter key to
select an option. Auto-detect will automatically detect whether cameras connected are black and white or colour.
Saturation adjust, Contrast adjust, Brightness adjust and Hue adjust
These four menu items allow the cameras saturation, contrast, brightness and hue parameters to be adjusted. To adjust a
parameter, highlight the field and press the enter key. The field will change colour. Use the up/down arrow keys to change the
selected parameter (001 to 200). Press the enter key when finished. Changes to picture quality will only be visible once the
menu has been exited.
Picture size
Sets the target compressed image file size (which determines recorded picture quality). Individually selectable per camera. To
adjust picture size, highlight the field and press the enter key. The field will change colour. Use the up/down arrow keys to
change the value (03KB to 60KB). Press the enter key when finished.
Camera event mode
Allows you to specify the way in which event cameras are recorded. Camera events are defined as cameras in an alarm
condition or where motion detection has been triggered. Use the enter key to select from Interleaved, Normal or Exclusive.
The Interleaved setting will record event cameras and non-event cameras. The event cameras will be interleaved between the
non-event cameras. For example:
Event cameras 4, 6
Non-event Cameras 1, 2, 3, 5, 7
Resulting Record Sequence 1, 4, 6, 2, 4, 6, 3, 4, 6, 4, 4, 6, 5, 4, 6, 6, 4, 6, 7, 4,
6, 1, 4, 6...etc.
The Exclusive setting will only record cameras in an event condition. All other cameras will be omitted from recording while an
event is active.
The Normal setting will record cameras in order e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.... etc.
Camera recording
The selected camera will only be recorded if this menu option is set to [X] (enabled). Highlight the field and use the enter key
to enable/disable camera recording. Default is enabled.
RECORD RATE SETTINGS
The Daytime recording options are only visible if camera recording is enabled. To change the setting, highlight the field and use
the up/down arrow keys to change the value. Settings available are 1 to 25 pictures per second depending on the number of
cameras connected.
Daytime recording This option allows you to enable or disable daytime recording (default Enabled).
Normal pics/sec This sets the picture recording rate during normal recording (default 25pps).
Alarm pics/sec This sets the picture recording rate if the camera goes into alarm mode (default 3pps).
Activity pics/sec This sets the picture recording rate if the camera is triggered by motion detection (default 3pps).
The Night recording and Weekend recording settings are made in exactly the same way as the Daytime recording settings.
Note however, that they will only be visible if they have been set to Yes in the Recording setup > Schedule menu.
