3 Simple Steps for Placement

Prep Rinse the soft and flexible applicator with hot water. Shake off the excess. Pick up LACRISERT

(hydroxypropyl cellulose ophthalmic insert) by lightly touching it with the grooved tip of the applicator.

Place

Place LACRISERT

by gently

brushing it on the inside

of the “pocket”.

Pocket

Gently grasp the outer corner

of the lower eyelid between your

thumb and index finger and pull

out to create a “pocket”.

Pull up and over

Pull the lower lid up and over

the LACRISERT

, then release.

Allow LACRISERT

to settle

comfortably in the “pocket”.

Application Tips

• Add a drop or two of artificial tears

after placement to expedite softening

• Put contact lens in first, then place

• If using makeup, put makeup on first, then

place LACRISERT

may be used at night or in the morning

Incorrect Placement LACRISERT® shouldn’t touch the white part of the eye or be visible on the rim of the lower lid. Indications and Usage LACRISERT® (hydroxypropyl cellulose ophthalmic insert) is indicated in patients with moderate to severe dry eye syndromes, including keratoconjunctivitis sicca. LACRISERT® is indicated especially in patients who remain symptomatic after an adequate trial of therapy with artificial tear solutions.

STERILE OPTHALMIC INSERT ® LACRISERT (hydroxypropyl cellulose ophthalmic insert) DESCRIPTION LACRISERT® (hydroxypropyl cellulose ophthalmic insert) is a sterile, translucent, rod-shaped, water soluble, ophthalmic insert made of hydroxypropyl cellulose, for administration into the inferior cul-de-sac of the eye. The chemical name for hydroxypropyl cellulose is cellulose, 2-hydroxypropyl ether.
