o Remove frozen food from its packaging and do not forget to
remove any metal clips. If the containers are suitable for placing
in a freezer and a microwave, then you can simply remove the
lid.
o The liquid that is created during the defrost process, particularly
in the case of poultry should be discarded. Under no
circumstances should it come into contact with other foods.
o A resting period is required when defrosting food, to ensure that
the food is totally defrosted. This normally takes between 15 –
20 minutes.
