Setting the AOI
By default, the AOI is set to use the full resolution of the camera’s sensor. You can change the size
and the position of the AOI by changing the value of the camera’s Offset X, Offset Y, Width, and
Height parameters.
The value of the Offset X parameter determines the starting column for the area of interest.
The value of the Offset Y parameter determines the starting row for the area of interest.
The value of the Width parameter determines the width of the area of interest.
The value of the Height parameter determines the height of the area of interest.
When you are setting the camera’s area of interest, you must follow these guidelines:
On all camera models:
The sum of the Offset X setting plus the Width setting must not exceed the width of the
camera’s sensor. For example, on the acA640-100gm, the sum of the Offset X setting plus the
Width setting must not exceed 659.
The sum of the Offset Y setting plus the Height setting must not exceed the height of the
camera’s sensor. For example, on the acA640-100gm, the sum of the Offset Y setting plus the
Height setting must not exceed 494.
On all acA2500-14 cameras:
The minimum Width setting is 64 and the minimum Height setting is 64.
On monochrome acA640-90, acA640-100, acA645-100, acA780-75, acA1300-30, acA1600-20,
acA2000-50, acA2040-25, and acA2500-14 cameras:
The Offset X, Offset Y, Width, and Height parameters can be set in increments of 1.
On monochrome acA750-30 cameras:
The Offset X and Offset Y parameters can be set in increments of 2 and must be set to an even
number. For example, the Offset Y parameter can be set to 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.
The Width and Height parameters can be set in increments of 4, i.e., to 4, 8, 12, 16, etc.
On color acA640-90, acA640-100, acA645-100, acA780-75, acA1300-30, acA1600-20, acA2000-
50, acA2040-25, and acA2500-14 cameras:
The Offset X, Offset Y, Width, and Height parameters can be set in increments of 2 and they
must be set to an even number. For example, the Offset X parameter can be set to 0, 2, 4, 6, 8,
etc.
On color acA750-30 cameras:
The Offset X and Offset Y parameters can be set in increments of 2 and must be set to an even
number. For example, the Offset Y parameter can be set to 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.
The Width and Height parameters can be set in increments of 4, i.e., 4, 8, 12, 16, etc.
