Getting Started
A Quick-Start guide to this powerful new release
his chapter contains valuable information about the installation and basic
operation of the V1. It begins with an overview of what’s new since 5.5.
There’s also an overview of the user interface, and an overview of how the V1
is used in a coaching environment.
What’s New in Version 5.7?
Much of what’s new in version 5.7 deals with making Academy lessons easier and
more flexible than ever. However, there are also numerous new and enhanced analysis
and productivity features. Here’s a run down:
A wide-screen version of 5.7 is available with a 16:9 aspect ratio video
window. This version works best with a high-performance wide-
screen laptop and one or more 16:9 cameras such as the Canon Elura
80.
An all-new video-position slider tool that’s both easier to use and more
attractive. Tic marks on the slider show a video’s key positions.
Academy lessons may now be “paused” while you are recording them.
Take a moment to consider what you’d like to discuss next or to take a
phone call.
Academy-style lessons may now be saved directly to CD on systems
equipped with CD burners and Windows XP or Vista.
Add stock footage or personalized pre-recorded drills to students’
lessons by using the new Lesson Wrap-up feature.
When making microphone impact-triggered recordings with a dual-
camera configuration, the two video files are automatically opened in
split-screen compare mode for simultaneous playback.
