Determining the Maximum Frame Rate with 8 Bit Output
When your camera is set to an 8 bit output mode, you can use the formulas below to determine
the maximum frame rate for a given AOI. These formulas take your AOI size into account plus the
other factors that can limit the frame rate. The formula that returns the lowest value will determine
the maximum frame rate for the given AOI.

The quantity inside the bracket symbols should be rounded up to the nearest integer.
Example
Assume that your AOI is set for 100 columns wide and 110 rows high and that your exposure time
is set for 3.1 ms. Also assume that the bytes per packet is set to 4096.
Formula 1:
Max frames/s = 254.0
Formula 2:
Max frames/s = 2666.7
Formula 1 returns the lowest value. So in this case, the maximum frame rate would be 261 frames
per second.

The number of number of bytes per packet is set in the Format 7, Mode 0 Byte Per
Packet control register. In this example, we assume that the bytes per packet is set
to the maximum. See page 4-33 and Section 3.12.2 for more information.
