2. To switch off the product, release the on/off switch (5). Allow the tool to come to a complete stop before removing
the blade from the workpiece.
d) Making a straight cut
1. Position the tool with the front part of the footplate (6) on the workpiece.
2. Hold the footplate rmly against the workpiece and guide the tool along the desired cut line. Do not force the tool
too hard. Light pressure on the blade achieves the optimum cutting speed.
e) Making a plunge cut
Plunge cutting is intended for making rough openings in softer materials. Do not plunge cut into hard materials e.g.
hardwood or steel.
1. Draw lines for the opening on the workpiece.
2. Position the tool so the edge of the footplate rests on the workpiece, with the blade above its ground (Ú Fig. 5).
3. Switch on the tool, and gradually lower the blade.
4. When the blade touches the workpiece, continue pressing down on the edge of the footplate while slowly pivoting
the product down until the footplate rests at on the workpiece.
5. Saw ahead the cut line (Ú Fig. 6).
To make sharp corners, saw up to the corner and back up slightly before rounding the corner. After the
opening is complete, go back to each corner and cut it from the opposite direction to square it off.

The best way to learn the operation is to practice for a few minutes on a piece of scrap.
