• Switch the tool off and wait for the blade to come to a complete stop before removing the blade from the
workpiece.
• Do not touch the blade or the workpiece immediately after operation; they may be extremely hot.
Risk of burns!
• To reduce the risk of explosion, electric shock and property damage, always check the work area for
hidden gas pipes, electrical wires or water pipes.
• Keep hands away from all moving parts. Do not reach underneath the workpiece.
• Do not use dull or damaged blades. They can cause excessive friction, blade binding and kick back.
• Know your workpiece. Remove/saw nails and screw heads before cutting. Hitting hard objects with a
blade may cause the tool to kick back.
• Wear a dust protection when working on:
- lead from lead-based paint
- crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products
- arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber
Inhalation of these harmful/toxic dusts can endanger the health of the operator and bystanders. The
risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your
exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved personal protective
equipment (PPE), such as dust masks that are specially designed to lter out microscopic particles.
