Instructions

• Always handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
may damage the product.
• The product must only be operated via 230 V/AC 50 Hz mains supply. Never try to
operate the product using another type of voltage, as this will destroy the product.
• Connecting a combination of different loads (inductive and capacitive) at the same
time will cause damage to the product.
• Always comply with the accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment
when using the product in industrial facilities.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product.
• Maintenance, modications and repairs must be done by a technician or an
authorized repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
Preparations for connection and installation
• The product may only be mounted when the power supply is turned off.
• Turn off the power when removing the corresponding electric circuit fuse or the switch of
the circuit breaker. Protect the product against unauthorised use (e.g. install a danger sign).
Furthermore, turn off the earth leakage circuit breaker in order to disconnect from all the
poles of the mains supply.
• Check the mains connection for absence of voltage using a suitable tester.
Connection and installation
• Pull the round switch out of the enclosure.
• Loosen the nut.
• Remove the complete cover.
• Connect the connecting wires to the screw terminals according to the following schematic.
• Place the product into the ush-mounted socket. It can be xed in place using either the
mounting prongs on the sides or with screws.
When inserting or tightening the product, make sure the connecting wires do not get
damaged.
• If necessary, change the operating mode and the dimming range (see the following section).
• Install the cover, washer, nut, and switch.

a) Operating mode
The following 2 modes are available:
Trailing-edge phase control (RC trailing), set as default.
Leading-edge phase control (RL leading)

Many LED lamps are not dimmable. This also applies to ballast units of LED lamps.
Only connect LED lamps that are explicitly marked as being dimmable.

Intended use
The product is intended for switching on/off and dimming the following types of light sources:
• 230 V incandescent bulbs and halogen lamps
• Low-voltage halogen lamps with electronic or coil transformers
• Dimmable LED lamps
This product is only to be installed and used indoors in dry conditions.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the
product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition,
improper use can cause hazards such as short circuits, re and electric shocks. Read the
instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties
only together with its operating instructions.

- is not functioning properly anymore (ickering light, smoke or burned smell,
audible crackling, discolouration of the product or adjacent surfaces),
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
