10. Operation
If you have put the outdoor and the indoor unit next to each other for testing (and if you have wired
the devices accordingly), observe that there may be loud feedback loop sounds via the microphone and
speaker in this case.
This is normal.
Just keep a distance of several metres between the outdoor unit and the indoor unit to avoid such feedback
loops when testing. Alternatively, you can temporarily tape several pieces of isolation tape over the
microphone and speaker openings.
After you have installed and connected the outdoor and indoor units as described in chapters 7, 8 and 9, plug the
mains adapter of the indoor unit into a proper mains socket. When the outdoor unit is connected to a separate voltage/
power supply (see chapter 9. a), switch it on as well.
a) Visitor Rings at the Outdoor Unit
• If a visitor pushes the bell button on the outdoor unit, the indoor unit will ring.
• To talk to the visitor, take the handset from the holder at the indoor unit. You can now talk to the visitor as on a
phone.
• Toactivatethedooropener,brieypushthe" " button (9). The door opener is then activated for a few seconds
(duration cannot be changed).
• To terminate the call, put the handset back into the holder of the indoor unit so that the small hook is inserted
into the opening (13) under the rocker button (7). The rocker button (7) will be pushed by this and the connection
terminated.
b) Operating Door Opener
A door opener can also be activated if no visitor has rung (e.g. if you can see through the window that someone is
walking towards the entrance and you want to let them in.
Toactivatethedooropener,brieypushthe" " button (9). The door opener is then activated for a few seconds
(duration cannot be changed).
c) Activating the alarm sound
When someone has rung whom you do not want to let in, you can have an alarm sound output via the speaker of the
outdoor unit to chase them off.
Keep the button " " (10) pushed while the ring tone is audible on the indoor unit. The outdoor unit will emit an alarm
siren sound that increases and reduces in volume during this time.
