OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Version 02/13
Inserting/Replacing the Batteries
Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being
swallowed by children or domestic animals. If they are swallowed, consult a
doctor immediately.
Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into contact with
the skin. You should therefore wear suitable protective gloves.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown
into a fire. There is a risk of explosion!
Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; there is a risk of explosion!
Observe the correct polarity when inserting the battery (positive /+ and nega-
tive/-).
• Loosen the screw on the battery compartment and remove the battery compartment lid.
• Remove the flat coin cells (if applicable) and insert two new 1.5 V coin cells of type AG13 in
the battery compartment paying attention to the correct polarity.
• The correct polarity is marked in the battery compartment and is also shown on the image
above.
• Replace the lid of the battery compartment on the device and secure it again using the corre-
sponding screw.
• If the display no longer works or its contrast starts to fade, the batteries must be replaced.
Operation
Check the air pressure of your tyres weekly in order to detect pressure losses
and to avoid associated risks of accidents.
Getting started and setting the display units
• Press the on/off button (1) to switch on the device.
• The unit of the air pressure display is indicated on the display.
• Press the SELECT button (5) with a pointed object, to set the desired air pressure unit („Psi“
or „bar“).
• Push the slider for the tread depth measurement (2) forward to activate the measuring „tread
depth measurement“ mode.
• Press the SELECT button (5) with a pointed object, to set the desired unit („inch“ or „mm“).
• Switch the device off by pressing and holding the On/Off button (1) until the display goes out.
Tyre pressure measurement
• Press the on/off button (1) to switch the device on.
• Press the air pressure probe (6) firmly onto the tyre valve (there should be no hissing sound).
• Wait for a moment until the display has stabilised and then remove the air pressure probe (6)

• Read off the value shown on the display.
Tread depth measurement
• Press the on/off button (1) to switch on the device.
• Push the slider for the tread depth measurement (2) fully to the front and insert the tread depth
gauge (3) into the tread groove to be measured.
• Now push the entire gauge at right angles to the tyre tread until the housing rests on the tread
