Safety Instructions
Ꮨ
Please read all of the operating instructions before using the product for the first time;
they contain important information about the correct operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty will be null and void in such
cases.
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modification to the product is not per-
mitted.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children!
• The product must not get damp or wet. Not only will this affect the functioning of the product
but it will also lead to corrosion. Protect the hand-held stapler against dust and dirt.
The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy
mechanical stress.
• To avoid eye injuries, always wear suitable eye projection (protective goggles) when using the
hand-held stapler. Staples may shoot out while stapling and thus can get in the eye!
• To fasten cables or wires, only use staples suitable for this purpose. When doing this, make
sure you do not damage the insulation on the cables/wires!
• Only operate the handle of the hand-held stapler when the staple opening is pressed firmly on
the surface into which the staple is to be stapled. Never point the stapler directly at people or
animals! There is a risk of severe injuries!
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect the product
immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. Let an expert check the product.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not work properly or does not work at all
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for chil-
dren.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations and all further regulations for
the use of tools are to be observed!
Operation
Unlocking
Press the metal handle down and then release it. The metal handle will be unlocked
and the hand-held stapler and its function is now ready to use.
Locking
This is only required when you wish to store the hand-held stapler in a space-
saving manner.
During the now following action, the metal handle must not be released.
Press the metal handle slightly in the direction of the arrow (1) (moving the hand-
le end approx. 2 cm in the direction of the arrow).
Hold the metal handle in this position and pull it slightly out of the hand-held
stapler (2), until you hear a “click” sound.
Following this, move the metal handle completely back towards the hand-held
stapler (3).
Finally, pull the metal handle out again (4) until it snaps into place.
Inserting Staples
To remove the drawer from the hand-held stapler, press the drawer’s
locking levers together.
Following this, insert suitable staples in the hand-held stapler. Important:
Nails or small staples are to be inserted on the correct side (see examples
in the illustrations to the right), otherwise the drawer cannot be inserted
properly.
Then push the drawer back into the hand-held stapler, until it snaps into place.
Do not insert too many staples, otherwise the drawer cannot be closed.
Do not insert broken staple strips, since they could become jammed. There is a risk of injury
during the removal of jammed staples from the hand-held stapler!
Only suitable staples are to be used. Not all commercially available staples can be inserted and
used in the hand-held stapler.
Selecting the Staple Type
With the slide switch on the front, you can set the staple/nail type to be used, see figure
on the hand-held stapler.
If the type adjustment is done wrongly, the staples or nails may become jammed in the
hand-held stapler or the stapling might not be performed properly and accurately.
Selecting the Impact Strength
Using the rotating disc on the handle, you can adjust the strength used to drive the
staple into the surface.
If you turn the rotating disc in the clockwise “+” direction, the impact strength will be
increased. Rotating the disc in the “-” direction decreases the strength.
Stapling
Press the head of the hand-held stapler firmly on to the surface into which the stapler is to be stapled. This is
very important to ensure complete penetration of the staple.
Then press the handle of the stapler firmly with your hand. To do this, put your hand through the opening of
the hand-held stapler and press the handle in the direction of the stapler using the heel of your hand.
By means of the mechanics integrated in the hand-held stapler, the staple is now “shot” into the surface with
great strength.
The staple cannot penetrate surfaces that are too hard. In such cases, the staple will be bent; or the staple
may be bent in the hand-held stapler.
Maintenance and Care
• The product does not require maintenance. Never dismantle the hand-held stapler. Any repair should be
carried out by a specialist workshop.
• To clean the hand-held stapler, all that is required is a wipe with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not use
aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing (discolouring) or impair
operation.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
