11. Initial setup

If the display is not on when you remove the watch from the packaging, this

does not indicate that the battery is empty. In order to protect the battery,

the manufacturer places the watch in standby mode. Press any button to

turn on the watch.

Theuserprolewillbeconguredautomaticallywhenyouturnthewatchonforthersttime.

Youcanalsoconguretheuserprolemanually–whenthewatchdisplaysthetime,holddown

the SET button for three seconds.

The watch resets itself when you remove the battery, so you will need to

recongurethesettingsafterinsertinganewbattery.

• To switch between imperial and metric units, press the SEL button. The

following units are available: Weight (pounds, kilograms) and height (feet/

inches and centimetres).

• To switch between 12 and 24-hour mode, press the SET button. "12H" or

"24H"willash on thedisplay; press theSELbuttonto select thedesired

mode. In 12-hour mode, the watch will display "A" (am) or "P" (pm).

• PresstheSETbuttonuntilthesecondvalueashes.PresstheSELbuttonto

reset the second value to "00".

• PresstheSETbuttonuntil the minutevalue ashes.Congure theminute

value using the SEL button.

• Press the SET button to go to the next setting (hours).

• Congure the other settings (hours, year, month and date) as described

above. Use the SEL button to select the value and then apply the setting

using the SET button.

• When BIRTHDAY is shown on the display, select your year of birth (1901-

2011)usingtheSELbutton.Conguretheothersettingsforyourdateofbirth

(month and day). Use the SEL button to select the value and then apply the

setting using the SET button. The day of the week is calculated automatically.

• When WEIGHT is shown on the display, enter your weight (30 - 220 kg or

66-480lb).ConguretheashingvalueusingtheSELbuttonandthenpress

SET to go to the next setting.

• When HEIGHT is shown on the display, enter your height (100 - 240 cm or

3'0"-7'11").ConguretheashingvalueusingtheSELbuttonandthenpress

SET to go to the next setting.

• Onceyouhaveconguredyouruserprole,presstheMODEbuttontosave

your settings.
