Getting started, use
a) General
Read and follow the chapter “Safety instructions” carefully.
• Plug the earthed mains plug (4) of the power strip into a regular earthed mains socket (wall
socket).
• Place the power strip in an appropriate place. Place the cables in such a way that nobody
can trip over them. Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using a suitable underlay to prevent
scratches.
The power strip can also be attached to a wall via the two holes (5) on the bottom of the power
strip using two screws.
• Connect the devices to the outlets of the power strip.
The individual outlet (3) is always active and provides a continuous voltage/current (regard-
less of the use of the remote control to switch the other outlets on or off).
The four other outlets (1) can be switched on or off wirelessly using the radio-controlled
remote control. When the outlets are switched on, a blue LED (2) on the power strip lights up
for control purposes.
• Push the button “ON” on the remote control briefly to switch on the four outlets of the power
strip. By briefly pressing the “OFF” button, the four outlets are turned off.
With each keystroke the blue LED on the remote control lights up.
Range
The transmission range of the radio signals, between the remote control and the power strip, is
up to 30 m under optimum conditions.
This value, however, is the so-called “open space range” (the range when transmitter
and receiver are in line of sight, without any interference).
In practice, however, there may be walls, room ceilings, etc. between the transmitter and the
receiver, which will reduce the range accordingly.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmission, no specific range can be guaranteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a single family house.
Sometimes the range can be considerably reduced due to:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings, metal-framed drywalls
• Coated/metallised insulated glass
• Proximity to metallic & conductive objects (e.g., heating elements)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Other devices on the same frequency (e.g. wireless headphones, wireless loudspeakers)
• Proximity to electric motors/appliances, transformers, power supplies, computers
Maintenance and care
• The product does not require maintenance. The product contains no parts that require servic-
ing. Therefore, do not open/dismantle it (except to replace the batteries in the remote control).
Maintenance or repair work may be performed only by qualified personnel or a specialised
repair shop.
• Switch off the power strip and disconnect it from the mains voltage before cleaning.
Disconnect the earthed mains plug from the mains socket (wall socket). Also disconnect all
connected loads from the power strip.
• To clean the product, a clean, dry and soft cloth is sufficient.
• Dust can be easily removed using a clean, soft and long-bristled brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions since these
could damage the housing or even impair operation.
• Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• Always pull the mains plug out of the mains socket before cleaning the power strip
or when the device will not be in use for a long time.
• Never pour any liquids above or next to the product. You run the risk of causing a
fire or a fatal electric shock.
However, if any liquid has entered the device, immediately disconnect the power
from the socket where the power strip is plugged in (turn off the fuse / circuit
breaker / residual current operated circuit breaker of the associated circuits). Only
then can you unplug the mains plug of the outlet strip from the mains socket and
contact a specialist. Do not use the product any longer.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are
to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical department or another specialist.
Battery information
• Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk they may be swallowed by
children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into contact with the skin. You
should therefore wear suitable protective gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming
into contact with these liquids may be severely damaged. Therefore, store batteries in a suit-
able location.
• Ensure that the batteries are never short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into a fire. There is
a danger of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a danger of explosion!
• Make sure that the battery is inserted into the remote control according to the correct polarity
(positive/+ and negative/-).
• If not used for a long period (e.g. in case of storage), remove the battery inserted in the remote
control. Old batteries may leak and cause damage to the product, which will lead to the loss
of the warranty!
• For the correct disposal of batteries, please read the chapter “Disposal”.
Inserting/replacing batteries
The battery may already be installed in the remote control at delivery. Remove a
plastic strip, if there is one between the battery compartment and battery.
• To insert/replace the battery pull the battery holder out of the remote control by removing it
sideways.
• Insert a battery of type “CR2032” into the battery holder paying attention to the correct polarity
and then place the battery holder back into the remote control.
The positive terminal “+” of the battery points towards the bottom side of the remote control.
• The battery needs replacing if the range between the remote control and the power strip
considerably decreases or if the power strip no longer responds to the remote control.
