b) Battery
• Correctpolaritymustbeobservedwhileinsertingthebattery.
• Thebatteryshouldberemovedfromthedeviceifitisnotusedforalongperiodof
timetoavoiddamagethroughleaking.Ifthebatteryisleakingordamaged,itmay
causeacidburnsifitcomesintocontactwithskin.Forthisreason,usesuitable
protectiveglovestohandleadamagedbattery.
• Thebatterymustbekeptoutofthereachofchildren.Donotleavethebatterylying
around,asthereisariskthatchildrenorpetsmayswallowit.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into re. Never
rechargeanon-rechargeablebattery.Thereisariskofexplosion!

Operation
a) Inserting a battery into the thermometer
• Removethebatterycompartmentcover(12)onthebackoftheproduct(slideinthedirection
ofthearrow).
• Insert oneAAA battery (not included) with correct polarity into the battery compartment
(observeplus/+andminus/-).
• Afterinsertingthebattery,alldisplayelementswillappearonthethermometer'sLCDdisplay.
• Replacethebatterycompartmentcover.
Thebatterylifedependsonthequalityofthebatteryandtheambientconditions.We
recommendedthatyouusehigh-qualityalkalinebatteries.
b) Setting up and mounting
• The externalsensoris designed forshelteredoutdoor use. It shouldnot be exposed to
directsunlight,asthiswillresultinincorrecttemperaturereadings.Exposingtheexternal
sensortoprecipitationcanalsoleadtoincorrectreadings,asprecipitationcoolsthesurface
ofthesensorhousing.Choosethemountinglocationcarefullysothattheexternalsensor
measuresthecorrecttemperature.Thesensoriswaterresistant,butitisnotpressure-tight.
Avoidsubmergingtheoutdoorsensorinwater.
• Laythesensorcablethroughsufcientlylargeopeningsorcableglandsinwindowsordoors.
Donotlaythecabletogetherwithorinthedirectvicinityofelectricalcables.
• Sealopenareaswithsiliconoranothersimilarmaterial.
