If your controller is running firmware version earlier than 12.18, you will need to update the
firmware.
You can either download a firmware update onto a USB drive from the Baseline web site or you can
update your controller through BaseManager.
To update the BaseStation 3200 firmware from the Baseline web site
You will need a computer with a USB port. This computer must have access to the Internet. You
also need a USB (thumb) drive. You download the firmware from the Baseline web site to the USB
drive. Then, you take the USB drive to the controller and install the update.
1. On a computer that is connected to the Internet, go to the Baseline web site at the following
URL:
www.baselinesystems.com
2. On the home page, click Support.
3. In the left navigation bar, click Firmware Version Updates.
4. Click the BaseStation 3200 V12 tab.
5. Click the Printable Instructions link on the web page to display the instructions in a format
that is suitable for printing.
To update the BaseStation 3200 firmware from BaseManager
1. Turn the dial to the Advanced position.
2. Press the Next button to highlight the Update Firmware (BaseManager) option, and then
press the Enter button to select it. The Firmware Update screen displays.
3. Verify that your controller is connected to BaseManager.
4. Verify that the firmware update is available.
5. The Update option is highlighted in the lower-right corner of the screen. Press the Enter
button to start the firmware update.
The controller will be locked while the update is being applied. When the update is complete,
the controller restarts and briefly displays the new firmware version.
Step 2 – Uninstall the 2G Cell Modem
WAIT! Have you recorded the SIM number and serial number from your 2G cell modem? If not, you
need to find these numbers before you uninstall the 2G cell modem. Refer to the instructions at
the end of this document.
1. We recommend that you back up your current configuration before starting this process in
case you need to restore your system. Refer to Backing Up Your System in the BaseStation
3200 User Manual.
2. Halt all watering while you install the cell modem hardware. Turn the dial on the controller to
the OFF position.
